Global Summer Cocktail Favorites
Let’s face it, it’s hot out there and you need a cold & refreshing beverage. Or two. Or….well, let’s just get right to it, shall we? With so many delicious options, we felt inspired to share some of our summer favorites from around the world. Forget the rosé, it’s cocktail time!
England – Pimm’s Cup: 1 part PIMM’S* No.1, 3 parts chilled lemonade, mint, cucumber, orange, strawberry
Italy – Negroni: 1 part gin, 1 part sweet vermouth, 1 part Campari
Brazil – Caipirinha: 5 parts cachaça, 2 parts simple syrup, 2 limes, 2 teaspoons refined sugar
Cuba – Mojito: 4 parts rum, 2 parts lime juice, 2 parts simple syrup, 6 mint leaves, 1 lime, soda water (*Runner up, go Hemingway style and have a Daiquiri: 1 1/2 oz White rum, 1/2 oz Simple syrup, 1 oz Lime juice)
Mexico – Margarita: 7 parts tequila, 4 parts Cointreau, 3 parts lime juice
Peru – Pisco Sour: 8 parts pisco brandy, 4 parts lime juice, 3 parts simple syrup, 1 egg white, 1 dash bitters
Puerto Rico – Pina Colada: 1 part white rum, 1 part cream of coconut, 3 parts pineapple juice
Spain – Sangria: 3 parts wine, 1/2 part brandy, fresh fruit, spices
Jamaica – Planter’s Punch: 3 ounces dark Jamaican rum, 1 ounce simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, mixed until dissolved), 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice, 3 dashes Angostura bitters
Bermuda – Dark ‘N’ Stormy: 2 ounces dark rum, 5 ounces ginger beer, Lime wedge
Singapore Sling – Singapore: 1 1⁄2 ounces gin, 1⁄2 ounce cherry heering, 1⁄4 ounce Cointreau liqueur, 1⁄4 ounce benedictine, 4ounces pineapple juice, 1⁄2 ounce lime juice, 1⁄3 ounce grenadine, 1dash bitters (*Danger ahead with this one, fair warning!)
