Shout Out To Unearth Women
Recently, a new start-up media outlet for traveling women launched a feminist travel magazine called Unearth Women, to explore more global women’s stories, and move beyond the archetype of female travelers vs. the REAL women who travel.
I love to see women supporting women, especially in the media, where we have a long way to go in moving past the sexist scope of typical images/reporting. This absolutely pertains to travel too, as I have previously written about on Women As Cultural Storytellers, and hearing from real women and issues around the world, just just another pretty post from an influencer lacking all cultural context. So I was THRILLED to see the launch of a new travel outlet Unearth Women that include interviews about travel with incredible women like Gloria Steinem and ‘feminist city guides’. In their words they are “a media start-up that is launching the first feminist travel magazine to enter the travel market. With a mission to champion female content creators…and unearth women’s stories around the globe”. Sounds like a similar mission near and dear to our L’Aventure Travel heart. Be sure to visit them and give them support!
